I really intend on blogging here on a regular basis, just have been so slammed this month.. What have I been doing?  well.... I have been making bento boxes for my lunch. Part of my new healthier way of eating.. Now my lunch is healthier and cuter!!

Part of my healthier lifestyle I have also been playing Wii Fit. I am amazed how much a diet change and playing videogames have made in the way I look and feel..

I have also been redoing my site myself.. Trying to teach myself how to use Dreamweaver and adding some flash galleries (soon I hope) so that it is easier to see my work.. I'd still  love to add a blog that could be commented on on my website, but for now having my Livejournal show on my website is as good as I can get..

I've also been working on a couple of pieces for an upcoming show at Gallery 1988  "Idiot Box"  that will open in April.. here are my 2 pieces

"Bottle Blonde" an ode to "I Dream of Jeannie"

"Che's Angels"  an ode to Charlies Angels

The show is going to be really fun, as usual Gallery 1988 has booked some amazing artists with thier own twists on the theme.

I was fascinated by the toilets in Japan, the fact that they go from the primitive (Squat toilets)....

to space age

some of the toilets had not only washing systems for your butt but even blow driers!!!!

I only had to use a squat toilet once.. but with my horrible knees it was quite a chore.. I am so glad I wasn't any drunker than I was. Most places offered a western style toilet along with the squat style.. At first I thought.. why offer both? why not just have western style toilets? but every time there were both, I saw women choosing squat toilets. I guess it's what they are used to. Maybe they are as baffled by the space age toilet as I was by the squat ones. Evidently the squat toilet is common in many parts of the world..
If you are ever faced with one of these here is how to use it:

the space age toilet is just a matter of sitting down and pressing buttons... oh and many surprises

next Japan topic... food!!!!

So I am finally getting my shit together after my trip to Japan.. Between myself and Todd we took over 1000 photos. So I thought I would post some of them every day with a bit of a topic tie in... today's topic:
Japanese fashion

I was very excited by the thought of going to Harajuku and seeing what they were up to. Our first Sunday we went, but it was pouring rain and just not many fashionistias out. But we went back on our free day and we shopped. I actually found a dress that could fit my big frame and boobs. we were both inspired and obsessed with the sars masks. The Japanese have takens them to new heights. We found Hello Kitty ones at the 100 yen store (like a dollar store) and many different styles.. here are two of the many we bought ...
the heart mask from Takuya Angel my favorite designer.

here is me with the designer of Takuya Angel

this mask was bought at a punk rock store somewhere in Harijuku

and here is a photo of me in the heart mask.. a devil maid hat and my new kimono inspired dress with my ninja shoes and legwarmers....

these are the ladies who worked wt the store I bought my dress at. The shop was so small that Todd  and I couldn't fit in the store at the same time. we were giants there.

Next topic... Japanese Toilets
